Can not configure wireless Atheros card after fresh install

In the test install I did today I could not configure a wireless atheros card. There were some entries in /etc/modprobe.conf but the "network" admin tool did not show me any devices i could configure. And nothing tells me what to do now.

I will reboot and see what I get then.

Its unclear if this is a "first boot" problem.

On the kernel update that was released today, Atheros wireless is again dead on my notebook.
If I boot with the previous kernel, wireless is functional again.
