There is a new vala version 0.7.5.

And the vala recipe doesn't look correct, it is using the gnomepackagerecipe but it should not do this, it is just a command line application. The only thing it shares with gnome is that it is hosted there, and used in other gnome-applications.
I updated the package and recipe on my personal repo.

humm,

the reliance on gnomepackage could mean many things... could mean that we want the buildReqs there, that app is hosted in gnome.org, etc.
in this case it's that app is hosted in gnome.org. (yes, we could do a clearBuildReqs() before the buildRequires to be perfectionist)

meanwhile, vala bumped in 2-devel. (http://lists.rpath.org/pipermail/foresight-commits/2009-August/034726.html)

Ok, so we keep it as a gnomepackage, but then we can remove some builddependencies:

clearBuildRequires ('dbus-glib:devel', 'dbus-glib:devellib', 'gnome-common:devel',
'gnome-doc-utils:devel', 'gtk-doc:devel', 'libICE:devel',
'libSM:devel', 'libXext:devel', 'libXi:devel', 'libXinerama:devellib',
